Low Temperature R290 Process Cooling

On this application Pure Thermal provided two of these latest Silver Hydrocarbon R290 Chillers, delivering Production & Process Cooling, to a Leading Specialist Contractor for installation within a Global Food Producers Flagship Manufacturing Site in the UK.

The 2 x Chillers on this application were utilised within the manufacturing site to provide cooling for both product and process requirements. Operating at -10°C Cooling and 40°C Heating the 2 x Silver 900.2 Chillers were integrated within both cooling and heating systems via balancing tanks which then distribute to the site wide services.

The Silver R290 Hydrocarbon Packaged Chiller range, manufactured by the specialist Italian company Enerblue and provided in the UK by Pure Thermal, provide nominal cooling output capacities from 250kW to 800kW with options for partial or 100% heat output options.

This installation followed the UK launch of this larger cooling capacity high efficiency R290 Chiller range which is geared towards retrofit or new applications for both commercial/HVAC and industrial/process cooling applications.

Equipment Schedule

Each nominally rated 800kW Natural Refrigerant Packaged Water/Glycol Chiller operates at a system temperature of -10°C with the added benefit of providing 100% of the recycled waste heat from cooling to the site heating services.

The Silver range provides the latest R290 Technology with SEER & SEPR compliance and is optimised for both Process/Production and Air conditioning/HVAC applications.

Summary

The Silver R290 Chillers provided an ideal solution for this project and definitely showed that applying Hydrocarbon R290 Chillers within demanding applications is both an efficient and low carbon practical option when considering retrofit or new applications.

This project delivers a great example of Silver Hydrocarbon R290 ‘Larger Capacity’ Chillers delivering high performance and resilience providing a non F-Gas alternative to traditional Synthetic Refrigerant Chillers. The credentials of the Silver range ensure that designers/specifiers have significant flexibility to apply these high specification Chillers within the most demanding applications whether in Cooling only or Cooling + Heating modes.
